Good Neighbor Grant - 2nd award for 2025We are deeply grateful to The Good Neighbor Thrift Shop for their unwavering support of our Avon Lake LIFE Memory Cafe` for the second consecutive year. As a mission and ministry of the congregation that graciously hosts our cafe`. The Good Neighbor Thrift Shop embodies the spirit of community, offering welcoming space and affordable essentials to those in need. We encourage you to support this incredible ministry by donating gently-used clothing and household items or volunteering your time. Your contributions help sustain their mission and, in turn, enhance the work we do at the Memory Cafe`. Community FoundationLIFE was fortified by grants from the Community Foundation of Lorain County from 2021 through the 2024 grant cycle. LIFE has received $50,000 each year for the past two years, and was awarded $18,000 in 2021. The Foundation provides funding for non-profit organizations that serve Lorain County residents in the areas of Arts & Culture, Education & Youth Development, Health & Human Services and Strengthening Lorain Counties.

Manhattan InstituteLIFE was recognized by the Manhattan Institute for advancing America’s long tradition of supporting a civil society through its work to improve and strengthen community. As a recipient of the Institutes $25,000 Civil Society Award, and with the help of volunteers and private philanthropy, LIFE will continue its efforts to empower the disadvantaged, build caring relationships to support those in crisis, prepare the next generation to realize their full potential and restore and revitalize communities.
